I wasn't expecting something amazing and when they come I wasn't too impressed as they didn't come with a battery and I didn't expect it to even take one but that could of been me not reading it properly but. So I normally rip items to bits on these reviews as I feel people should know what they are like. If my review was helpful let me know by clicking on the ''Helpful'' button :) □□ Would recommend especially if you need louder alarms that can ring for up to 60 seconds. Having said that however, this timer is much more affordable (at the time of my purchase, it was HALF the price of the ''Time Timer''). Now that I have tried both systems, I can honestly say that I prefer Time Timer because of the silicone cover and the ''no alert sound'' option. (If you choose the longer alert and want to stop the alarm from beeping for the entire 60 seconds, it can be stopped by turning the knob clockwise (like you're adding time) and then turning the knob counter-clockwise all the way back to zero). Alternatively, if you work in a loud environment and need a high volume alert that lasts for more than a few seconds, this specific timer might be for you. So, if you are working in a quiet office or are sharing work spaces with others, Time Timer could be your best option since it can operate without any disturbing sounds. Both timers can be very practical to have depending on your exact needs. Time Timer can be used in absolute silence, by deactivating the alert completely. We do own different brands of these types of timers, and so, here is how this timer differs from the ''Time Timer'', which is a more expensive timer brand that actually started this trend :ġ - This timer does not have any shock protection features, whereas ''Time Timer'' has a silicone cover which adds shock protection.Ģ - This timer operates with 2AA batteries 〰 My ''Time Timer'' operates with 1 AA batteryģ - This timer has a volume option (for a softer alert or a louder alert) but it lacks the ability to mute the alerts completely 〰 ''Time Timer'' only has the option of sounding an alert or muting the alert.Ĥ - This timer offers the option of a 3 seconds sound alert or a 60 seconds sound alert 〰 ''Time Timer'' does NOT have the option to control the length of the audible alert.ĥ - This timer's audio alert control switches are in the battery chamber, so you need to remove the battery cover to access these settings 〰 ''Time Timer''s audio alert control is on the backside of the timer and is easily accessible.Īt the end of the day, the major difference between the two is that this timer has a very clear sounding alert even on the lowest setting and on the lowest alert duration. It will silently count down until it reached the end of the timer, and will then sound the alarm to let you know. This timer does not tick like most clocks do. As the time expires, the red disk (aka remaining time) will start disappearing by moving in a counter-clockwise direction. This will move the red disk into position. To set a countdown on the timer, you need to turn the center knob clockwise till you reach the desired time. This timer does not have a ''silent'' mode like some other brands have. Simply put, it's just a question of how long and how loud it will ring when the time expires. No matter what setting you choose, your timer will count down the time. These controls give you the options of either a 3 seconds or a 60 seconds alarm duration and a low or high volume alarm. This is also where the alarm volume and alarm duration options are. The battery chamber is easy to access and snaps shut very easily as well. Aside from a plastic lens that protects the red disk from damage, the timer doesn't provide any shock absorption feature if you were to drop it on the floor. You need two AA batteries as they are not included in the box. The timer comes with simple instructions on how to set it up and use it. I wanted a visual reference guide that would be easy for them to follow. I bought this No Ticking 60 minutes Visual Timer to help me during homework and study time for my 3 oldest boys who seem to have no concept of time at all when it comes to studying or reading for school or whatnot.
